DA councillor could be fired over claims he worked with ANC to undermine Trollip
THE future of Nelson Mandela Bay councillor Knight Mali hangs in the balance as the DA’s national bosses decide if he should be fired. Mali had to explain by yesterday afternoon why his membership should not be terminated.
This follows a newspaper report by The Herald’s sister publication, Saturday Dispatch, that Mali was working with an ANC councillor to paint the DA’s provincial leader Athol Trollip as a racist.
Mali is also reported to have admitted to being aligned to the ANC.
Mali has vehemently denied this, saying he would take the matter up with the press ombudsman.
