The husband of a Port Elizabeth policewoman who was gunned downed outside her home last month, appeared in court this morning.

Policeman Mlungisi Tsitsi, 36, briefly appeared in the Motherwell Magistrate’s Court this morning. He was arrested earlier this week for allegedly being implicated in the murder of his wife, Constable Nomathamsanqa Ivy Tsitsi, 36.

Nomathamsanqa, who was based at Zwide police station, was shot inside her vehicle as she arrived home shortly after finishing night shift at about 6am on November 12.

Mlungisi is the fourth suspect arrested for alleged ties in the hit murder.

Msindisi Bhebhula, 24, Thembani Rorwana, 31, and Ndiphe Soqokomashe, 46, appeared in the Motherwell Magistrate’s Court earlier this week and were remanded in custody.

They were allegedly involved in the hit which police believe was meant to look like a botched robbery.
