ABOUT 350 angry Joe Slovo, Chatty and Despatch residents marched to the Port Elizabeth City Hall yesterday to demand an improvement in service delivery in their ward.

Topping their demands are the construction of RDP houses, schools, a clinic, a police station and title deeds to their houses.

They also want gravel roads to be tarred and scholar transport for children who have been relocated.

The residents, who marched to the municipality for the second time since August, threatened not to vote in the upcoming municipal elections if their demands were not met.

Community leader Gcobani Mpati accused the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality of neglecting them.

He gave as an example how they had had to fight before the city provided the Nyamazana informal settlement in Joe Slovo with bucket toilets last year.
