Police are monitoring two different groups of Ward 41 residents who have gathered because of conflicting views on ward councillor Mbongeni Bhungane.
Residents from the Marikana region of Ward 41 are complaining that Bhugane is taking all the developments to other parts of the ward and not to their section.
These residents have taken to closing the primary school in the area to emphasise their need for houses and development.
Residents from the Nkandla section are attempting to stop the Marikana residents.
Early this morning it was reported that a scuffle had broken out between the two groups.
A father from the Nkandla section was stabbed while taking his son to school and was taken to hospital shortly thereafter.
Furthermore, Nkandla residents then set the shack belonging to the leader of the Markina group alight.
In return, Marikana residents set two shacks alight which belonged to the Nkandla group.
Police are currently patrolling the area.
