A GUTSY Port Elizabeth woman fought off two attackers at her Sherwood home yesterday.
Colleen Vorgers, who according to her children, is in her late 40s, was treated at St George’s Hospital and discharged at about 5pm after the attack at her Lancing Street home just before midday.
Although details of the attack were still sketchy last night, it is believed she was repeatedly punched.
Vorgers’ children and an armed response company’s operations manager said her teeth had been smashed in the attack and her nose injured.
Vorgers, who was at home alone, was attacked near the door to her garage after she heard a noise and went to investigate.
She managed to escape and lock herself in the house, and then phone for help.
Vorgers’ two daughters – Nadine and Angelique Barkhuizen, aged 22 and 19 respectively, said they rushed home from work after their mother phoned and told Angelique she had been attacked.
