Three people, two of them nine-year-old children, died when the bakkie they were travelling in overturned on the R75 in Port Elizabeth today.
According to emergency service personnel on the scene the vehicle overturned when its tyre burst.
“The vehicle rolled an impacted a lamp pole in the middle of the island on the R75,” Brenhan Metune‚ head of emergency medical services in Nelson Mandela Bay said.
Metune said three of the six injured were children aged between five and eight years old.
