R3 000 worth of dagga and mandrax were confiscated during a raid on a house in Chatty, Bethelsdorp, at 10.20am this morning.
The raid led to the arrest of a 44-year-old man, who police are only naming after he appears in court, for possession of 1.5kg of dagga and 19 mandrax tablets.
The operation was in conjunction with the Intervention Team, who were roped in to clamp down on the Northern Areas gang violence.
Specialist and highly trained officials from as far as Gauteng, Cape Town and King Williams Town have been roped in to assist.
Among them are the police’s elite Special Task Force and National Intervention Unit Members.
