President Jacob Zuma arrived at Dan Qeqe stadium in Zwide late on Friday morning with a convoy of 15 protection vehicles, to a crowd of singing and clapping supporters.
A crowd of about 10000 packed the stadium for the launch of the national water leaks campaign. The government’s ‘War on Leaks’ programme is designed to train 15 000 artisans or plumbers who will in turn fix leaking taps in their communities.
Yesterday, the Economic Freedom Fighters lambasted Zuma’s visit to Nelson Mandela Bay, claiming it was a ploy to campaign for next year’s local government elections.
