Another woman bust for cocaine ‘chocolate bullets’

A second woman has been bust at Cape Town International Airport for allegedly trying to smuggle through cocaine concealed in chocolate containers.

South African Revenue Service (SARS) Customs officials said they had detained a South African woman after she was found to be possession of 3kg of cocaine worth R 900‚000 at the airport on Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday‚ another South African woman was bust at the airport by customs officials after being found in possession of 4kg of cocaine worth R1.2-million‚ also concealed in chocolate containers.

As in the first incident‚ the latest bust occurred when a custom official inspected the hand luggage of a woman with chocolate containers in her bag.

The chocolate containers which were opened when the woman failed to produce a receipt or proof of purchase‚ turned out to be filled with 147 bullets of unknown white substance that tests confirmed to be cocaine.

In Monday’s incident‚ 200 bullets filled of cocaine were seized.

Both women and the narcotics were handed over to the South African Police Service for further investigation. Both women will appear in the Bellville Magistrate’s Court – the first woman on Thursday and the latest one to be arrested on Friday.
