NELSON Mandela Bay mayor Danny Jordaan, along with members of the SAPS, community policing forums and the public, took to the streets as part of a campaign to rid the metro of crime at the weekend.
The campaign, called Taking Back the City, was initiated by the SAPS and the community policing forums, with the support of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.
It is aimed at initiating a process of speaking to and receiving feedback from residents on issues of crime, drugs, corruption and economic growth.
Jordaan spent most of Saturday travelling to several sites including Uitenhage, Motherwell, Greenacres and Zwide followed by more than 100 bikers as well as a string of police and traffic personnel.
