POLICE are investigating attempted murder and malicious damage to property charges following three random shooting incidents in Port Elizabeth at the weekend.

At about 9pm on Friday, residents of Dolph Road, Bethelsdorp, notified police of several shots being fired.

Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said no injuries had been reported.

On Saturday afternoon, shots were fired at a 22-year-old man in Stag Road, Helenvale, damaging two cars.

“The man believed to be the target of the shooting escaped unharmed.

“Two vehicles – a Toyota and a BMW – were however left with multiple bullet holes,” Labans said.

That same night, a woman was woken up in her Booysen Park home, around 9.30pm, when multiple shots were fired.
