POLICE are investigating a case of malicious damage to property and theft after a group of men armed with pangas, knives and guns trashed a nightclub in Port Elizabeth at the weekend.
Customers dived for cover as the group of about 20 began breaking things in Dolly’s Bar in Russell Road and chased them outside.
The place was an absolute shambles yesterday. The owner’s car, with broken windows and slashed tyres, was still standing outside the nightclub.
“There was the shattering of glass, breaking of chairs and screaming of customers as our club was ambushed,” club supervisor Nour Bakar, 26, said.
“They went all Boko Haram [a terrorist group] on us, saying we are stealing the night-life business from them.
