SUSPENDED Nelson Mandela Bay DA councillor Nico du Plessis is likely to know his fate on Monday following a disciplinary hearing where he faced a charge of fraud.
His colleague, Bahle Ngqondela – who is also suspended, for a separate matter – will hear the outcome of his hearing by the end of the month.
Du Plessis, a Helenvale ward councillor, was suspended in September on allegations of fraudulently using money from the ward discretionary fund.
He has rejected the allegations.
Meanwhile, DA councillor Ngqondela faces charges of bringing the party into disrepute, defying party bosses and speaking for the party despite being instructed not to while on suspension.
DA provincial disciplinary committee chairman Kevin Mileham said yesterday both cases were drawing to a close.
