NELSON Mandela Bay police are on the hunt for four men who tried to make off with an ATM at the FNB building in Newton Park at the weekend.
They tried to remove the ATM from the wall using a cutting torch, but failed when they ran out of gas.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said the four then made off with the security guard in a white Toyota Quantum minibus. They dropped him in Struanway, near New Brighton. An attempted robbery case is under investigation.
