A man who allegedly killed Plettenberg Bay businessman John Barnes and his dog during an early morning attack two months ago, appeared in the court this morning.
Barnes’s wife discovered his body in a room next to her bedroom at their lodge in Wittedrift at around 4am.
Barnes, 66, and his dog had been shot and killed during the attack.
Police spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie Jeffrey Pienaar, 34, was arrested at his home in Kwanokuthula near Plettenberg Bay on Monday after he had been linked to the through ballistic evidence.
