POLICE have warned motorists to be extra vigilant when pulling off the road to take a call on their cellphone.
This comes after a hijacking in KwaNobuhle at about 8pm on Tuesday.
Police said two gunmen hijacked a 39-year-old man, who drove a leased VW Polo, when he pulled off at the corner of Mabandla and Bantom roads.
“The two men pointed firearms at him and the suspects forced him out of the vehicle. They fled with the car and the driver’s cellphone,” spokesman Sergeant Majola Nkohli said.
“Motorists are urged to be extra cautious when pulling off the road,” he said.
By yesterday evening, the vehicle had still not been recovered.
