Humansdorp police together with the K9 unit arrested two suspected house robbers following a car chase on the R102, between Jeffreys Bay and Humansdorp at 3am this morning.
The arrest stems from an early morning house robbery where a 69-year-old woman was overpowered in her home by three robbers.
During the robbery the suspects stole valuables, including cellphones and cash, before fleeing in her red KIA Picanto.
Police spokesman Warrant Officer Gerda Swart said shortly after the men sped away in her car she managed to alerted local police. “Shortly after the robbery police members on patrol spotted the Kia driving towards Humansdorp.
A high-speed chase ensued and the Kia was forced to pulled off the road. The three suspects attempted to flee and police arrested two of them. The search for the third suspect was immediately launched and will continue until he is arreste,” she added
